Shear Mode Piezo Plates
APC is pleased to offer a variety of standard and custom shear mode piezo plates. Shear mode plates provide increased sensitivity and greater displacement than standard piezoelectric ceramic plates of the same shape and size. APC’s shear mode piezoelectric ceramic plates can be used in a variety of applications including:

APC’s shear mode piezo plates are manufactured from APC’s high quality piezoelectric materials.
APC's Shear Mode Plate Nomenclature:
P - Shear - Length x Width x Thickness - Material
Where:
Length = Poling Direction
Length x Width = Epoxy Silver Electrode Face
Thickness = Distance Between Epoxy Silver Electrodes
Note: Silver Epoxy Electrodes cannot be soldered to. Lead attachment can be done by using a conductive adhesive.
The picture below is representative of APC’s P - Shear - 15.00 mm x 15.00 mm x 1.00 mm - 850 - Wrap-Around. The notches indicate the positive face of the ceramic (red arrow indicates the poling direction). Blue indicates epoxy silver. The wrap around electrode allows for easier lead attachment.
APC’s standard machining tolerances apply. Alternative electrode materials are avaliable upon request.
APC will attach electrical leads to any of the below piezoelectric ceramics. APC’s standard leads are parallel arranged, 32 AWG, and 6” in length. APC offers a wide range of other value-added services to save our customers time, effort, and expense.
