APC Ceramic used in RPI Data Transmission Research Project
Great new use of piezoelectric ceramics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute! Doctoral student Tristan Lawry has developed a way to transmit large quantities of data and power wirelessly thorough thick metal walls using APC’s piezoelectric ceramics. Tristan’s research has many applications in the navel industry where one might want to transmit data through the hull of a ship or submarine without using a wire.
